Mark Massicotte is a drummer, producer, songwriter, and recording artist whose talent, dedication, and character have earned him the respect of musicians and audiences alike. As drummer and co-producer for Coal Creek Boys, Mark has played a key role in the development of the band’s latest material, collaborating closely on the writing, arrangement, and production of eighteen new songs.
Widely regarded by his peers as one of the finest drummers working in country music today, Mark brings an exceptional sense of timing, feel, and musicality to every performance. His keen ear for production and arrangement has also made him a sought-after collaborator for emerging artists across Canada. From his professional home recording studio in rural Central Alberta, he has recorded and provided drums and percussion for numerous independent projects, helping artists bring their music to life.
Beyond music, Mark has enjoyed an extraordinary career in aviation. A successful commercial pilot, he became one of WestJet’s youngest captains, a remarkable achievement that reflects the discipline, leadership, and professionalism he brings to every aspect of his life.
Mark lives on an acreage in Central Alberta with his wife, Heidi, and their children, where family remains at the heart of everything he does. When he’s not performing or recording, he can often be found maintaining the family property, working on projects around the farm, or pursuing his passion for history through his collection of antique and vintage muskets from the nineteenth century.
A lifelong student of his craft, Mark owns several vintage and custom-built drum kits, each with its own unique character and story. His love of music extends beyond the stage and studio, as he performs professionally every Sunday at his church and is an active member of the Red Deer-based band Memphis Mafia.
Perhaps most importantly, Mark is a passionate advocate for men’s mental health and believes strongly in the importance of community, friendship, and supporting others through life’s challenges. Whether behind a drum kit, in the cockpit of an aircraft, or spending time with family and friends, Mark is known for his generosity, loyalty, and genuine care for those around him.
For the Coal Creek Boys, Mark is more than a drummer—he is a trusted collaborator, creative partner, and dear friend whose influence continues to shape the band’s sound and future.
